Improv Show!

It was set up kind of like a game show, it was 4 teams against each other, using improv games to drive a points system. Each team that got selected would send 1-2 players to act. I liked that system because I wasn't required to get up very often... That said, I did get up (totally willfully I swear) twice!
I had more trouble the second time because the final thing was a final showdown and it was for a "Mid-life crisis musical" (I feel like with musicals if you ain't planned it out it ain't gonna be good.) long story short it was somewhat incoherent but I just stuck to a car joke.

How it finished: My team won! It was very exciting. We won chocolate bars, which based on the plethora of candy I already have was an unwanted prize.
And yet I still ended up with one of em because the other teammates were like 'Nah thanks'.

Also, my parents and cousin were there, which was nice to have the support. My mom decided to seat them second to front row though, which certainly tuned up the difficultly, but I managed. (My mom also claims her cheering was partly what made us win, I don't dispute it, I'm becoming a champ at situations that would kill my sister of embarrassment)

She also ended up winning the "guess the # of foods in a jar" thing, which was candy YET AGAIN but it was cool she won. (There was also a money prize but my mom gave it back to support the club, I thought that was classy.)

So in conclusion Ashley and Snowfire were right but don't tell them k

Tribute (and The Destruction of Eric Riccy)

can't forget to pay tribute to our new overload (see last years post if this doesnt make sense)

I have the improv show tomorrow and the nervousness is hitting me now in full force and its definitely too late to bail now. My parents and cousin and maybe even grandmother are all going so I gotta try my best to fail gracefully.

It's been YEARS since i was last on stage. (about 3 actually...)

We'll see what happens.

Post-Halloween

I took forefront in candy handing out this year, and though I was nervous about it (some things never change...) I did it with great success!
My dog was a knucklehead about it but ehhhh she's a noob what can I do.
Also anyone who enjoys cuteness should envy me because my customers would cause the strongest of hearts to palpitate.

On a different note, as per promised, I have roughly my next year courses to explain. I say roughly because I haven't gotten into the last one as of yet, but big money no whammy...
Anyway, I'll have 'Advanced Radio Operations', which is a required course and also just the next semester extension of a course I'm in. I'll be (hopefully) in 'Radio commercial Writing', that one will fit my schedule perfectly, else I'll be in 'Radio News' and the story changes. (All pun intended.)
For my program, those are the required courses. For electives:
"Innovation" (Science-y Gen-ed)
"Conflict and the social context" (Psych-y Gen-Ed)
"Intro to Public Speaking" (Self Explanitory)

Here's to hoping that all goes fine and dandy.

One final thing I'll bring up in this post is the fact I might be in a live improv show.
Remember how I said I'd say more about improv club later?
yeah I dropped the ball THIS IS LATER
So anyway, I signed up for this inadvertently, because I thought it was something I was supposed to do, as opposed to optional. Now that I know, I could opt out. That said I feel like I should at least try doing a show once. If I hate it or ruin things horribly then okay fair but AT LEAST IM TRYING THINGS CMON LOOK AT ME GO
Anyway, as you might have guessed from above: my view on Improv has IMPROVed (im on fire woo) to the point where I've been still consistently going to it every week. I'm still awful at speaking to crowds and going up on stage but there has been a (though marginal) noticeable difference in ability to get up and words. General communication remains iffy. (RICE reference goes here)
