An updater of sorts

I've so far got a letter from Uni #1 accepting me into general studies! More updates as rejections/acceptances come.

Also my mom recently got laid off. :I

Plan City

I've gotten around to applying to some universities and colleges here in New City.

I still have to get transcripts sent and cleared up, and then I'll be waiting for acceptance/rejection letters. I have higher anticipation of rejection after kinda bombing and getting 3 Ds in the uni in hometown. Any acceptance will be both a surprise and a day-maker.

The programs I've applied for are as follows:

Uni #1:
-General Studies
-Radio (Diploma)

Uni #2:
-General Studies
-Kinesiology

College:
-Pharmacy Technician
-Library Technician

Feel free to tear me apart on my terrible decisions in the comments section ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

Banner Experiment

As some of you have noticed, PTE's been sporting 2 different banners at the same time for a bit now.

I've been trying to test an animated banner, to see how well it works. It's certainly more attention grabbing, though I've found different pros and cons for both picture and animation.

With the plain picture, its main con is that it is always a static image. Another issue is it's sizing. No matter the size I make it, it's size can be altered by the coding set in the template, therefore my banner can end up 200px wide and left aligned.
...which looks ridiculous.
All that said, the main pro to picture banners is that pictures naturally load much much faster than an animation.

Animation looks much nicer, can have its size set with its coding, and can even be giving settings so that it starts static like a picture and turns dynamic by the actions of the user. (i.e. hovering over or pressing a button)

However its filesize can bog down PTE, making the page not load right and make PTE unusable. And with the template, it is not an option for the "banner" piece, therefore there must always be some sort of picture banner on top of the animated one. (the top one can only be reduced to a 1px x 1200 px line at best...hidden, but existant.)

So now I post a question: How are you, the PTErs, finding the two banners? I'd like to switch between animated and picture with new banners that I make, but if animation is being super buggy or if its looking weird on your screens then I'd stick to just picture.

so when are you moving back to hometown??

If I had a dollar for everytime I've been asked when I'm moving back to that city, I'd have enough money to RUN THAT CITY.
Alright maybe thats a stretch but I'd still have a bunch of money maybe.

For anyone and everyone who's curious what my plans are these days:
First, no, I'm not planning to "Stay in New City Forever".
Secondly, I'm not specifically planning to move to Hometown either.
My latest plan is different from my past plans, as it no longer uses time as the defining factor.
Due to the way things have turned out (Me moving back due to a plethora of issues), I've decided that I can't really based things on any specific time. I have to reach a point, one which I would have needed to reach in the first place to stay in hometown. However since I basically moved too early, reaching this point is now impossible (or at least extremely difficult) to achieve in hometown. It is very possible to achieve in New City though.

The point I need to reach is one where I have at least 1 degree or certificate to my name so that I can get more than a minimum wage job. Where I am able to get said job is what will determine my future city, but until that point I need to stay in New City indefinitely.
I've already began applying to universities and colleges in New City, and will continue to do so. Figuring out what program will get me to the point is proving to be the biggest hurdle.

Once at the point, everything will be up in the air. I know that I'll need to try saving a financial base to start out, which is another goal I'll be working towards during the time in New City. I'm hoping that once at that point, I'll be able to move almost anywhere so that I'll never hit into the issues I had in this past year 2 again.

So when am I moving back to hometown?? Ask the future.
